Our older daughter is in middle school and just for gun she took orchestra. Her background is in piano and guitar, do when she picked the bass for the orchastra it was a big change. But the background from the other instruments has made it rather smooth. There are several huge difference. The first is that we attend Saturday group classes. It is especially good when the kids are 4 or 5 and doing he rythm classes. Maya just had her first class and loved it

Another thing about Suzuki piano is that the kids start perfoming the first year they are taking lessons. Maya was all smiles after her first performance at 4 years of age. She cannot wait to do it again.

Parental involvement is much greater a d that is why Suzuki piano is not for everyone. More hours of class. More hours of practice and one parent needs to take notes and participate in every aspect.

Suzuki piano is very good and our kids are great musicians, and if you are looking for a serious music program that will make music a big part of their life, then it is the way to go.

The reason is that the biggest difference I saw was size, and we do not need a big grill.

Now that said, one thing that dissapointed me was that I could not use lava rocks in the grill because it said there was a danger of a grease fire.

So while I grill works great and cost less than $150 even with buying a new propaine gas tank, it does not give the food the smokey flavor that I would like.  The directions said something about a wood box and I am going to have to look into what that is.

However, the grill does speed things up for our family that needs to cook things quickly and get going.  Now we are eating fish and chicken much more frequently and we do vegetarian things on the upper rack.

That has really changed.  While this capital city may not be a hot torist destination, it is strategically located near the cost and an easy drive to many great beaches, including Puero Vallarta to the south and Mazatlan to the north.

We took Alexandra and Maya to Tepic and then out to Los Corchos Beach.  They had a blast playing in the sand and swimming.  The only negatives were the mosquitoes and the tight sleeping conditions because we stayed with family and did not stay in a hotel.

We are now seriously thinking about buying a house in Tepic, as it seems an ideal location that is close to many great places to relax.  We are also considering relocating there part of the year, as it would be easy to run an Internet business from there.  The Internet cafe’s had good, fast access.

If you compare Tepic to Guadalajara, it is not even a comparison.  While Tepic seems to be improving, Guadalajara seems to be getting more conjested and many older neighborhoods seem to have vacant buildings covered in graffiti.  It has new, modern neighborhoods as well, but it is pricy, poluted and less than charming.  The downtown areas are still wonderful to visit, but parking, like most major cities, is terrible.

Overall we had a great trip and did get a better idea of our strategy to start a business in Mexico, but it will be a while before we can execute the plan.
